Furnishing of a 1920s brick and stucco estate, with terraces overlooking a formal water feature. The work focused on creating a series of distinct exterior rooms for dining, conversation, and poolside lounging, using a palette of teak and painted aluminum.

Townhouse - Belgravia

A compact urban garden and upper-level terrace for a Grade II listed townhouse. The project required careful consideration of scale, privacy, and material longevity in a protected urban context. For the upper terrace, the solution employed lightweight, fine-lined metal furniture to maximize the sense of space.

Country House - East Tennessee

An extensive series of terraces and loggias for a new-build stone country house in the Italianate style. The advisory work began early in the architectural design process, ensuring a cohesive relationship between interior and exterior spaces across multiple levels.

Finca - Alicante

The restoration and furnishing of a traditional Spanish country estate. The project involved sourcing antique and contemporary pieces appropriate to the region’s climate and vernacular architecture, with an emphasis on shaded seating areas and durable, sun-resistant materials.

Estate and Gardens - New Jersey

A multi-year engagement for a significant private estate, involving the furnishing of formal gardens, a walled garden, and poolside areas. The work included the specification of both Munder-Skiles and other manufacturers’ pieces to suit the varied character of the landscape.

Dumbarton Oaks - Washington, D.C.

Over a twenty-year period, John Danzer helped lead the research and reproduction of the original Beatrix Farrand-designed garden furniture for Dumbarton Oaks. This scholarly, multidecade project to recreate Farrand’s lost designs is a foundational element of The Exterior Decorator’s approach.

Modern House - Presidio Heights

Furnishing of a series of minimalist terraces for a contemporary house adjacent to the Presidio. The project required a restrained palette and clean-lined furniture to complement the architectural aesthetic and the natural landscape of the park.
